Head to Amazon and lick on the “Account & Lists” dropdown. Then, select payment options to add your gift card as a new payment source. Swap your Mastercard, Visa or Amex gift card for an Amazon gift card. Once the registration is done, you can now start using your gift card to make purchases through Amazon.

Yes, at least with US Issued Cards, but it probably works with others as well. You should be able to buy everything except for Amazon India Gift Cards. In general the items can only be shipped to an Indian address.

You can use your Membership Rewards points to buy stuff on Amazon, but this redemption option has a low value compared with other rewards — only 0.7 cents per point. This means that if you have 10,000 points, you can exchange them for $70 worth of Amazon merchandise. There’s no minimum redemption amount.
