Are prepaid cards good for travel

Answered By: Blake Cox Date: created: Jun 18 2021

The Netspend® Visa® Prepaid Card has its flaws–primarily the costs–but it’s a great overall product. It has features that few other prepaid cards have, and the savings account option sets it apart. If you can get past the fees and use the card enough to justify it, then it’s an excellent choice for traveling abroad.

Should I use a travel money card

Answered By: Brandon Reed Date: created: May 14 2021

Pre-paid travel money cards may not do you much good if you spend less than about $3000 overseas, since the fees you’ll pay for having and using the card will likely outweigh any overseas ATM or transaction costs you’d incur if you used your regular bank-issued debit or credit card.

How does a prepaid travel card work

Answered By: Patrick Anderson Date: created: Mar 02 2021

A prepaid card works like a credit or debit card when making a purchase, but you won’t go into overdraft as the card doesn’t work on a line of credit. Instead, a prepaid card uses the money you loaded into your card in advance. Once you run out, you can top it up again to continue using the card.
